Healthy Bake-At-Home Cookies for your Horse's Birthday

Special Thanks to Lori Yearwood at SKODES HORSE TREATS
I like touse a base of flax meal/linseed meal. You don't need a lot -- a few cups of flax meal is enough to make a dozen small cookies.
Flax meal is a good base for horse cookies because:
* Horses love the natrually nutty taste of flax
* When you add water to flax meal, you get a dough like consistency that is a bit like bread and/or cake
* And flax is the absolute closest thing to natural grasses in its Omega 3 and 6 profile -- very good for a horse's hooves and coat!
Once you add enough water to turn the flax into a dough-like consistency, add a cup or some of your horse's favorite fresh fruit or berries.
Next, you may want to add a little spice or flavoring. Chances are you already have some in your kitchen -- Vanilla, perhaps, or Anise or Cinnamon. A little goes a long way so a splash or two will be plenty.
Mix everything together. Then scoop into little balls and drop on a cookie sheet -- or spread the dough like brownies. Cut into cute shapes and bake at 350 degrees until soft and chewy.
